"We are going to have it," Chandler-Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bertha Pritchard said. "We're too far gone not to. We've just got to readjust."

A meeting of the chamber's board of directors was scheduled for Wednesday to decide on a new place for the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus. The city originally planned to host the event on the park's easternmost ballfield, but 10.3 inches of rain over the past month changed that.

"We're going to put the circus on a hill back there (near the park) on Stanley McCurley's property, I think, or in one of the parking lots," city administrator Jim Moffeit said. "We are going to have the circus."

Culpepper and Merriweather last visited Chandler in 2007. It is scheduled to perform at 2 and at 4:30 p.m.

The parade will kick off festivities at 9 a.m., just south of Ellis Motor Co. on FM 315.

McCurley is the grand marshal.

About 70 booths have been reserved for Pow Wow. Among the food to be served is catfish, barbeque, fried turkey legs, egg rolls, sausage, hamburgers, hot dogs, cakes, pies, and baked potatoes. Other vendors will offer crafts, jewelry, apparel, candles, bird houses and feeders, and other products. The Chandler Area Economic Development Corporation has planned a chili cook-off.

The Brownsboro Future Farmers of America Booster Club was scheduled to host a pee-wee rodeo, but it has been canceled, Pritchard said. However, a train for kids, pony rides, inflatables and a trampoline will be available.

Bear Radio will provide music.

A 30 percent chance of rain is the forecast for Saturday, with a high temperature of 67.

Tickets may be purchased from the Chamber- Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce, Citizens State Bank, Brookshire's, Citizens National Bank, Chandler Feed & Seed, Chandler City Hall, Chandler Drug, Y's Hometown Foods, Brownsboro City Hall, First State Bank.
