PALESTINE - The Brownsboro Bearettes took on the Palestine Lady Wildcats Tuesday, who were undefeated coming into the match.
And the undefeated remained in the past tense of "were" after the match when Head coach Becky Daughtry's Bearettes defeated their District 20AAA opponents to the south in three straight games to sweep the match.
The final scores were 25-15, 25-19 and 25- 19 as none of the games were close for long.
Brownsboro is now 3-1 in district play, as is Palestine after the loss.
The victory puts both Palestine and Brownsboro in second place, just one game behind the Fairfield Lady Eagles.
Game 1, 10-point win for Varsity Bearettes

Game 1 was back and forth until the midway point. Brownsboro jumped out to a 3-1 lead as Caitlin Collins hit a slam at the net that Palestine returned into the net.
But the Lady Wildcats won three of the next four points to know the score at 4-apiece and the score seesawed until it was 7-7, 9-7, and 11-9.
Brownsboro moved out to a 14-10 lead, then to a six point lead at 19-12. The Bearettes rode the serve of Jessica Caviness for the final six points of the first game to take it from 19-15 out to the final of 25-15.
The Bearettes were able to make a play every time the Lady Wildcats got close in Game 1. And during the final six-point run, middle blocker Haley Shaffer had a tip shot that arced at an angle over two blockers at the net, and fell into the front corner of the net ... and she added two slams after getting sets from Chelsea Chambers and Collins.
Game 2, 25-19 for Varsity Bearettes
In the second game, Brownsboro had an early lead at 6-2, only to see it slowly dissolve into a 13-13 tie.
But a three point run made up of a service change point and two points froma kill and a block by Shaffer at the net during the service of Collins got the Bearettes out to a 16-14 lead after they had been down one.
Brownsboro fell behind 16-18 moments later, then fought off a long ralley by Palestine, finishing off the point when Shaffer pulled off another tip "drop shot" at the net to pull the Bearettes back to within one point.
And it was Collins on the serve again, this time rolling off seven points with a little help from her teammates.
Holt got a block at the net and followed it with a slam as the Bearettes got out to a 21-18 lead during the Collins run.
Amy Scarborough made a desperate "punch" shot at the net to get the score to 23-18, and added a slam on game point that Palestine returned, only to see it sail out of bounds.
Game 3, Varsity closes it out
It was a hot night for Collins on serve as she opened the final game of the match with a fivepoint run (Abby Hernandez got a slam during the run) to get the Bearettes out to a 7-1 lead early.
Shaffer added three points on serve during the game, while Hernandez had two, Scarborough three, and Caviness three.
Holt had a kill and a drop shot, and Scarborough added a tip at the net.
Brownsboro closed it out the match with a 25- 19 margin in the final game.
