Bearettes tied for District 20AAA lead

They've done it. The Bearettes have climbed up to the top of the mountain.
At press time, the worst possible scenario (Tuesday night) is that the Brownsboro Bearettes are tied for first place in District 20AAA.
The Bearettes pulled into a tie with the Fairfield Lady Eagles with a four-game, match win last Friday in Fairfield. And with a sweep of the Crockett Lady Dogs Tuesday in Brownsboro, the Bearettes made sure they remained that way even if Fairfield also won Tuesday.
"It's a nice feeling," Bearettes head coach Becky Daughtry said after Tuesday's win over Crockett. "This is a very deserving group of girls."
What's up next for the Bearettes, coach?
"We have goals," Daughtry said, "but we try not to get ahead of ourselves. "

Until Fairfield's results from Tuesday are known, the Bearettes know they at least have a share of the top of the District 20AAA heap.
Tuesday night's latest match saw Brownsboro win three games in a row to take the match - 25-16, 26-24, and 25-10 - to notch their 30th win of the season.
It was Game 2 of the three game match that proved pivotal for the Bearettes as the Lady Dogs hung in close throughout.
It started well, with a fivepoint run on Chelsea Chambers serve. Hillary Shaffer had a block and a kill, Caitlin Collins got a kill, and Chambers made two serves that Crockett just couldn't return.
But the Lady Dogs fought back, pulling to within 5-3 and then, after the Bearettes managed to ease out to an 8- 4 lead on a serve break point and two points on Alex Conway's serve, worked their way into a 12-12 tie midway through the game.
Crockett then managed to pull out to a two-point lead.
But, down 14-16, the Bearettes answered back.
On Caitlin Collins' serve, Brownsboro rolled off five consecutive points on three Shaffer blocks and a kill, along with Collins herself making a good dig to keep a rally alive.
Two, two-point services (by Shaffer and Kaycee Wood) helped Brownsboro ease outto a 23-21 lead, and exchanges of service breaks between the two teams ended up with a 26-24 win in that second game.
Game 1 was similar with a four-point run on Collins' serve and a seven-point run on Shaffer's serve as the Bearettes closed out a 25-16 win on a Shelbi Holt kill at the net.
Game 3 was nearly all a simple run out as the Bearettes took a 15-point win at 25-10 to close out the match.
Jessica Caviness had a six-point run during her serve, Chambers and Shaffer each had two-point service runs (Caviness also had a two-pointer), and Alex Conway closed out the match with a five-point run.
