Mika Mildred Mika, age 94 of Rockwall, Texas, passed away October 24, 2009.

She was born August 26, 1915, in Belton, Texas, to Milton and Gertrude (Suggs) Patillo, and was one of four daughters.

Mildred married her husband, Fred P. Mika, on February 14, 1936. She and Fred lived in Brownsville, Texas, and Chandler, Texas, for most of their married lives.

Mildred moved to Rockwall, Texas, in 2000, to be near family. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Rockwall.

Mildred Mika could light up a room with just her smile and the twinkle in her eye. She had a contagious joy that came from her faith in Jesus Christ. Mildred's love of family is what energized her throughout her life.

She lived simply, loved extravagantly and served tirelessly. Mildred's home was always filled with the aroma of something warm and delicious. Her arms were always open, ready to give one of her wonderful hugs.

Mildred's heart was always ready to make room for anyone. She was a delight to all and certainly a life to be emulated. Mildred will be missed, but the impact she made while here will continue on forever.

She is survived by her son, Donald Fred Mika and wife Janet of Little Elm, Texas; daughter, Judy Mika Lamberth and husband Gene of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren, Robert Bradley Lamberth and Kevin Dale Lamberth of Rockwall, Stefani Lamberth Ragsdale of Austin, Jennifer Lamberth Rucker of Dothan, Ala., and Keith Mika, Debbe Mika Hadfield and Cyndy Mika, all of Little Elm; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Fred P. Mika; and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel.

A graveside service followed in Cathedral of the Pines Cemetery, Tyler, Texas.
