ST. BONIFACE

On All Saints Day, members of St. Boniface had the privilege of witnessing the Confirmation of 22 young people.

The Most Reverend Bishop Alvaro Corrada ministered the Sacrament. At Baptism we become sons and daughters of God.

Fr. Lopez told these young people that by their presence they express a desire to complete that baptismal grace.

They now become true witnesses for Christ, spreading His word and defending their faith. St. Boniface was filled to capacity with the candidates, sponsors, family and friends.

In his message, Bishop Corrada said we are all called to be saints at our baptism. The grace that unites us to Christ is the foundation of our faith.

Bishop Corrada said through the Baptism of Christ we have been washed clean. Our garments have been washed in the blood of Christ.

The Bishop spoke of how the Book of Revelation (the first reading) is about what the church is and what the church will be.

It is about being who you are and who you will become. We must grow in spite of persecution even within our own families.

The Saints the youth chose for their Confirmation spoke of the willingness to defend and protect our faith while we grow closer to God.

We celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints on a Sunday just once every 28 years (planned by Pope Gregory)! How wonderful that the Sacrament of Confirmation was administered on one of those rare Sundays!

We congratulate Maria Adams, Antonio Duran, Hector Duran, Jennifer Duran, Rodrigo Duran, Andrew Gomez, Cecilla Gomez, Celeste Gomez, Gabriella Gomez, and Juan Gomez.

We congratulate Virginia Granados, Adeline Daisy Gutierrez, Ruby Gutierrez, and Ana Christina Ledesma.

We also congratulate Daysy Ledesma, Sara Mashburn, Leslie Mendosa, Jonathan Montero, Andrea Padron, David Padron, Sandra Rojas, and Karen Zuniga. You will be in our prayers.

Following the dismissal of the Mass, the Bishop graciously posed with the Confirmants and families for photos. A potluck luncheon was enjoyed following Mass.

Reminder: The maintenance committee is in need of aluminum cans for recycling. Your donations help to offset the cost of maintaining the lawn equipment.

Reminder: The Altar Society will host a garage sale in two weeks. Keep an eye out for more details.

Congratulations and best wishes to all who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

We pray for the sick and suffering. We remember the souls of the faithful departed. We continue to pray for the men and women serving our country in the military.

God bless.
