CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES

Chandler Christmas Tour of Homes marks its 20th anniversary in December.
Under the leadership of Women's Unity Fellowship, the yearly event has raised thousands of dollars for local non-profit groups, including the library's summer reading program and the Brenda Epperson Memorial Scholarship for Future Teachers.
On Dec. 12, six local homeowners will open their doors for area residents to tour.
The tour begins at 4 p.m. and will end at 7. An admission price applies and tickets are available at Copeland's Chandler Drug, Chandler Library and from the homeowners.
This week's featured home was recently constructed by Ginger and Ras Cade at 12701 FM 2010. It is a rustic home with western flair throughout.
The couple's work and craftsmanship is exhibited throughout the home, beginning with the custom cedar entry to the cedar poles around the porch, as well as numerous pieces of furniture created from cedar trees cut from their backyard.
The hand-stained concrete floors lead the way to other unique details such as the horseshoe chandelier and the sink made from an aged wine barrel.
Western Christmas decor will greet guests as they enter the family room and snow villages will adorn the kitchen.
One room is dedicated to cowboy decor and Ras's calf roping experiences, while Ginger's softer side is evidenced in the toile ladies room.
In the master bedroom, their commitment to their faith is displayed in numerous crosses handmade by nephews.
During the holidays, the Cades enjoy family, friends and good food.
