Bearettes sweep Winona

WINONA - The Brownsboro Bearettes varsity and junior varsity squads overpowered the Winona Lady Cats in matchups held Friday, Oct. 13 in Winona.
The varsity Bearettes scored in double-digits in each quarter of their 67-30 win, while the junior varsity used a stifling defense to post a 41-5 road victory.

Coach Fred Griffin's squad wasted no time in getting out in front of the Lady Cats.
The Bearettes ran out to a 9-2 lead early, finishing the first quarter up by an 18- 5 count.
Brownsboro added 15 in the second and 19 in the third quarter, while holding Winona to 12 total points over the same time period.
Two junior post players - Hillary Shaffer with 16 points and Tiffany Hurd with 15 - lead the Bearettes offense.

Synola Harmon added 10 points while point guard Laquesha Cooper and wing Yniqua Mosely had five points each.
Point guard Lakeshia Johnson had six points with Chelsea Chambers and Megan Hain scoring two points each to round out the Brownsboro scoring.
JV 41, Winona 5
The junior varsity Bearettes held the Lady Cats to only five points in the game, all of those points coming in the third quarter as Brownsboro shutout Winona in the other three quarters Friday.
Brownsboro posted a 29- 0 first half shutout in dominating the contest, then outscored Winona 12-5 in the second half as Coach James Hatchell substituted freely throughout.
Three Bearettes scorers each outscored Winona on their own.
Sierra Bell lead the way with 12 points, and Mallorie Lough and Brittany Capps each added nine points.
Rae Rae Winnett had four points and Valerie Edwards scored two.
