The Texas Democratic Women of Henderson County met Nov. 17 at Tilo's Bakery & Restaurant.

Officers for the new year were elected. They are: Carolyn Beatty, president; Maxie Barton, vice president; Karen Penland, secretary; and Ann White, treasurer.

Democratic County Chair Marsha Head announced the Henderson County Commissioners Court has approved a raise for election workers for the general election in November 2010.

The Secretary of State's Office has approved an increase for the primary elections in March.

Filing for ballot positions for federal, state, and local offices begins Dec. 3 and ends at 6 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2010.

Monthly meetings of the Texas Democratic Women of Henderson County in 2010 will be on the second Wednesday of each month, at 1 p.m., at various locations throughout Henderson County.
