LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Reader commends paper
Let me compliment you on The Statesman!
Your editorials have really been excellent the last month. I liked reading your plugs for the Food Bank, for those who have catastrophic illnesses, and other things.
It was good to read about your past associations with your church and know you were not ashamed or afraid to mention that background.
I'm glad to see you encouraging the churches to help when and where needs are obvious!
Keep up the good work.

Brownsboro JHS student expresses gratitude
On behalf of the student council at Brownsboro Junior High, I would like to thank everyone who helped make our annual shopping trip for Christ- mas angels a success.
Thank you to all who gave their time and money to help our students earn a better appreciation for the spirit of giving.
We would also like to thank Mr. Billy Perry for driving to Tyler and helping us get everything sorted out after one of our vehicles was broken into.
We would also like to thank Mrs. Becky Grantham for coming to Tyler to do whatever was needed after our break-in.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the patrons and the staff at Chili's in Tyler. All donations were greatly appreciated.
I am always pleased when students are shown leadership by example, are able to see the goodness in people, and have positive role models.
