CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES
The Bersano Home
The Bersano home, at 203 North Creek, is a twostory house built in 2001 with a beautiful circular drive and a swimming pool and hot tub.
Brian and Kari Bersano have been married 15 years. He is a physical therapist, and she is a registered nurse.
They attended Texas A&M and are owners of Edge Medical Supply. They have three children, all of whom attend school in the Brownsboro Independent School District.
Lauren is in the sixth grade, Andrew is in the fourth grade, and Lindsey is in kindergarten.
The Bersano children's area is in the second story and is decorated with mainly children's themes, while the media room has an Aggie theme.
A gold and red color scheme runs throughout the house.
Kari Bersano's grandmother was from Germany and handed down several tasty recipes.
This is one of the family favorites:
Pheffermisse
(Brown Pepper Nuts) 6 cups flour 1-1/2 cups molasses 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup Crisco 1/2 cup butter 2 eggs 2 T. soda 1 t. cloves
1 t. cardamom seed
Measure flour in bowl; add cloves and seed.
Boil molasses for five minutes, stirring and watching closely. Add sugar, Crisco, and butter and set aside.
Add soda to molasses and shortening mix.
Pour molasses mix over flour mix, add eggs and stir. Roll in strands and cut 1/2" then roll in sugar
Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees until done.
The WUF Christmas Tour of Homes is set for Saturday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
