Robertson Robertson At least six auto burglaries have been reported in Brownsboro since Nov. 13, including one in which the victim’s Christmas gifts were taken in the middle of the day, Brownsboro Police Chief Thomas Robertson said.

"I’m not saying it’s the victims’ fault, but people need to think this time of season," he said. "Keep something to put over your presents. Make it look like a pile of clothes or something."

On Wednesday afternoon, thousands of dollars worth of merchandise was stolen from an unlocked truck parked near Y’s Home- town Foods, Robertson said. The driver left the veh icle there for about two hours.

Over the past month, four of the six vehicles were reportedly vandalized on the night of Nov. 13. While no arrests had been made, suspects had been identified.

"We’re looking at a couple of suspects," Robertson said.

"One of them is tied to another burglary during which an air conditioner unit was taken off the top of a building in October. They’re walking down neighborhoods and checking car doors and just taking whatever is sitting in the vehicles. You just can’t leave your vehicles unlocked any longer."

In other burglaries, Robertson said a Glock .22 and a rifle were taken.

In Chandler, Chief Ron Reeves said "only a couple" of auto burglaries have been reported in the past month.

Anyone with information on Wednesday’s burglary and others is asked to call the Brownsboro Police Department at 903-852-6761.
