WRITER'S CORNER

SNOW WHITE

I stand beneath the giant brown trees of winter,

Watching the white flakes of snow silently descending.

They cover the cold earth with its blanket of white,

And the trees that stood so bleak and bare before

Are now clothed in a wintery cloak.

My footsteps in the snow follow me without a sound.

I am at peace in this awesome arena

Although alone in this world of white.

My eyes embrace this wondrous scene,

And marvel at its coming with such beauty.

The cold, wet flakes brush my warm cheeks;

I welcome them as a lover's kiss.

The loveliness of winter will stay in my mind and heart

To be cherished till all time.
