WRITER'S CORNER
WINTER SHOW
Snowflakes falling as gentle caresses upon the warm earth
Draping the naked trees with mantles of white;
It comes upon the earth's bosom as a child,
suckling its mother 's breast.
Graciously adorning the beautiful remnant of man's abode,
Mountains arise from the plateau as gods immortal
Decked in their finery of white and silver frost
Taking stock over all the kingdoms
Cold and unyielding, their frozen fingers hold the destiny
of all who enter into its world.
Mysterious and forbidding, they make the barriers strong
And as immortal warriors keep at bay those who will mar its magnificence.
Look, those who dare, see the canvas that nature paints,
What pictures of lovely scenes appear, they delight every eye.
Glistening gems of light hanging everywhere
Virgin snow covering earth's nakedness as an artist's canvas;
To share such a sight with a kindred soul
Would be the purest delight.
