Ready, set, go ... it’s time once again for spring BHS sports
Here we go again ... like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.
LOL ... couldn’t help it ... I’ve been a parent.
What am I talking about? Spring is rolling around towards us again, all weatherrelated evidence to the contrary, and it’s getting that time where all the sports seem to multiply quicker than a math student at a UIL academic competition.
OK, I was trying to be funny there.
But, it’s seriously coming. Mid-February will see the beginning of baseball and softball again. Somewhere about then, or a little bit later, track will crank up ... according to the schedule on the school’s Web site, on Feb. 26.
I’m sure that golf and tennis must be coming up soon afterward, but my work computer wouldn’t access those “pages” for some reason Tuesday. I’ll try again next week.
In the meantime, I know you parents out there are beginning to keep a closerthan usual eye on your vehicle’s gas guage, the bal- ance in your checking account, and the condition of that little magnetic strip on your debit card (don’t want that thing to stop working at the wrong time).
Of course, it’s time to look at the oil level on the stick and check the odometer to see if its time for that change, yet. And, it would be nice, to make sure you have good tread on the tires.
Checking out the sports schedules is handy as well. Then, you can look at what road games you’re going to be able to attend. If you’ve been doing this for a couple of years already, you likely already know of a nice place to eat in some of these towns and you can plan accordingly ... maybe you can ask a friend who already has made one or two of these trips.
Having a blanket handy in your vehicle is nice. Then, when your spouse is driving, you can cover up, kick the seat back, and take a nap during the drive. Of course, your spouse can do the same thing when you’re driving, but first things, first.
In any case, it’s time to get ready for the multiple road trips, sometimes in one week. By March, it’ll be in full swing and it’ll continue on into May.

Thanks to everyone during the past week or so. I’ve been wandering around with plus-100 degree temperatures. It took until this past Saturday to break the fever.
And everyone was real nice ... or, at least, took one look at me, realized I was sick, and gave me wide berth so I could keep my germs to myself.
In either case, thanks very much.
