8th A 48, Palestine 38
The eighth grade “A” team ran its record to 4-6 with a win over the Palestine Wildcats.
After being down at half-time, the Bears outscored the Wildcats by 12 in the second half to notch the 10-point win, 48-38.
Tyler Thomison led the Bears with 15 points, Deandre Cook had 12 points and Swade Houston had eight points.
Jared Bragdon had five points, Quinton McKenzie had four points and Ryan Covington and Mitchell Penny had two points each.

7th A 41, Palestine 31
A 10-point win over the Palestine Wildcats by the seventh grade “A” team Bears moved their record to 9-1, 6-0 in district play.
Chris Givins led the way with 14 points for the Bears. Landon Mason added six points in the win.
Steven Thompson had five points, while Cody Renfro, Clay McCoy and Ryan Wellman had four points each. Logan Compton added a bucket for the Bears.

Fairfield 49, 8th A 12
The Brownsboro offense was cold throughout its contest against the Fairfield Eagles, scoring a single basket in each of the first three quarters, as the Bears fell by 37 points, 49-12.
Deandre Cook had four points and Swade Houston had three points. Jared Bragdon and Jake Boyd scored two points each. Quinton McKenzie added a free throw.
Fairfield was undefeated for the season coming into this game.

7th A 25, Fairfield 24
The Bears held off a furious, fourth quarter comeback by the Fairfield Eagles to post a one-point win in district play.
Up 19-8 after three periods of play, the Bears were outscored 16-6 in the final period.
Will Bailey hit his only bucket of the game, the game-winner, with 1.6 seconds left in the game after a timeout.
Chris Givins and Landon Mason scored eight points each to lead the Bears. Clay Mc- Coy had three points and Samuel Odom and Landon Compton joined Bailey in scoring two points each.

Athens 49, 8th A 29
After matching the Athens Hornets in the first quarter, the Bears saw their opponents steadily pull away the rest of the game, as Athens posted a 20-point win.
Swade Houston led the Bears with seven points, while Jared Bragdon, Ryan Covington and Quinton McKenzie each scored four points.
Deandre Cook and Tanner Wilson scored three points each and Mitchell Penny added two.

The Bears exploded offensively in the first quarter, outscoring the Athens Hornets 20-2 on their way to a 17-point victory.
Landon Mason led the way with 11 points and Chris Givins added nine. Landon Compton and Trey Volentine had six points each.
Will Bailey had four points, Samuel Odom added three, and Steven Thompson and Ryan Wellman had two points each.

Consolation game
Mineola 36, 8th A 35
The Bears led by five points going into the fourth quarter, but were unable to hold onto the lead as Mineola nipped them at the wire, 36-35.
Ryan Covington led the way with 11 points for the Bears, while Deandre Cook had 10 points.
Jared Bragdon had seven points. Swade Houston had three points, while Quinton McKenzie and Tyler Thomison had two points each.

Consolation game
7th A 46, Mineola 22
A 22-point half-time lead put the Bears in the driver’s seat of the Van tournament consolation game and a 46-22 win over Mineola.
Landon Mason led the way with 10 points while Steven Thompson had eight points.
Chris Givins and Will Bailey scored six points each and Toby Scurlock and Matt Welmon scored each had four points. Trent Volentine, Johnathan Harris, Clay McCoy and Landon Compton each added two points.

Van 59, 8th A 48
Brownbsoro was down by nine points at half-time, a deficit it was unable to overcome in a 59-48 loss to the Van Vandals.
Swade Hosuton had 12 points to lead the Bears while Deandre Cook and Tyler Thompson scored eight points each. Ryan Covington had seven points.
Quinton McKenzie had five points, Jared Bragdon had three points and Jake Boyd and Mitchell Penny each had two points. Tanner Wilson added a point.

The seventh grade “A” Bears posted their only loss of the season to date in this game, falling by 11 to the host Van Vandals.
Brownsboro was led by Landon Mason with eight points, while Will Bailey and Tent Volentine had seven points each.
Chris Givins had four points and Steven Thompson had two points.
