Sales-tax revenues consistent with last year’s totals
Although individual cities vary in how their salestax revenues are holding up, collectively the 16 that collect the tax are combining to stay in step with the same level as a year ago.
That according to the latest report by the Texas Offi ce of the Comptroller.
February’s report showed the 16 cities combining for more than $1.65 million to date in 2010, up 0.81 percent from the $1.63 million recorded after two months last year.
And the month’s totals were even better with the entire county totaling $1.022 million, an increase of 5.34 percent from the more than $970,000 collected in February 2009.
But swings existed among individual cities.
