A double-digit number of Brownsboro High School athletes were named to the Academic All-State team recently, according to information provided by BISD Athletic Director John Settle last week.

Seven came from the Bears football team, with three athletes from the volleyball Bearettes being cited, as well.

The seven athletes from one football team only occurred among two Class 3A schools this year.

Bears making the list were: Zack Bailey, Colton Croley, Glenn Devlin, Brad McDonald, Jose Mendez (no picture available), Tyler Rogers and Justin Vause.

Bearettes on the list included: Chelsea Chambers, Shelbi Holt and Amy Scarbrough.
