Several things will be present in your life to help you to know that Heaven will be your eternal home.

The first of these is that you know you completely trusted in Jesus Christ for your forgiveness and acceptance by God — nothing else.

Next, having a genuine trust in Christ means that you have the Spirit of God living in you as His seal that you belong to Him (John 14:17), and you are aware of His presence in you.

As a result of God’s Spirit living in you, the Bible speaks of several evidences that you belong to God and are sure you will go to Heaven.

Some of these are:

•You know you are led by His Spirit. (Romans 8:14)

•You are not fearful of being punished. (Romans 5:9)

•The Holy Spirit brings to your remembrance things that Jesus said. (John 14:26)

•You know you are taught by the Holy Spirit. (John 14:26)

•You experience knowing what is the truth of God’s Word versus untruth. (John 16:13)

•The Holy Spirit exalts Christ in your speech, attitudes and actions. (John 16:14, Galations 5:22-24)

•You know you have been changed, and continue being changed in your life and character by the Spirit’s work in you. (Corinthians 5:17)

•You are continuously being moved away from fleshly and worldly desires, activities, and are concerned more with things of God. (Ephesians 4:23-24)

•You know you belong to God because you understand the Bible. (John 8:47)

•You know you belong to God because you love other believers in Christ. (John 13:35)

•You rest because you are at peace with God in this life and for your eternity. (Romans 5:1)

My prayer for all is that you have trusted in Jesus Christ for your salvation, and Biblical evidence in your lives that assures you that your faith is genuine – then Heaven will certainly be your eternal home!
