Featherston MURCHISON — Funeral services for Jerry Elmer Featherston, 66, of Murchison, were scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, with Terry Don Adair officiating.

Jerry was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at his home in Murchison.

He was born August 31, 1943, in Athens, Texas, to Roy Elmer and Helen Cook Featherston.

Jerry lived in this area all of his life. He loved old cars, horseback riding and was devoted to his dogs and horse.

Jerry was a loving and caring brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.

He was a Baptist by faith.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roy Glenn Featherson; two sisters, Dorothy Jane Hamrick and Mary Evelyn Poole.

Survivors include one sister, Martha and Emory “Totty” Franklin; 16 nieces and nephews; and 36 great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers included Jerry Poole, Carl Wayne Pool, Roy Allen Pool, David Poole, Ceci Holt, and Darrell Hamrick.

Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Winchester, Daniel Hamrick and Jimmy Goodall.
