A Lovely Lady
I saw a vision just the other day
Strolling down the avenue, coming my way.
I had to stop and stare
As the sunbeam kissed her hair;
She was such a lovely lady,
Yes, she was such a lovely lady.
She looked at me and smiled as she passed by.
My heart started to flutter like a butterfly.
She went into the park and sat down.
I followed her like a crazy clown.
Sitting down beside her I asked, “What is your name?”
She looked at me as if this was a game.
I closed my eyes so I wouldn’t stare.
When I looked again she wasn’t there.
Where had she gone in that short a time?
That’s when a voice from Heaven spoke, “She’s mine.”
Looking up I saw a lovely lady.
Smiling from above was my lovely lady.
