Trey Volentine And it’s off to State.

Trey Volentine stayed consistent and finished in third place at the Region III tournament last week, a finish that earned him a sport in the State tournment set for Austin on May 13 and 14.

TVolentine shot back-toback 77s for a 154 total.. This earned him the bronze medal and third place overall tournament field of 50 regional qualifying golfers.

With this achievement he now has a chance to compet for the Class 3A state title in Austin. There he will play against qualifiers from the other three regions for the title.

The third place finish at the regional tournament also places him among the top 12 golfers in Class 3A this year, regardless of his results in Austin.

Volentine is a past Player of the Year for his age division of the North Texas Jr. PGA and winner of more than 20 tournaments under that organization in the past two years of competition.
