Shawn Padgett and Jodi Cox The engagement of Jodi Elizabeth Cox and Shawn Matthew Padgett, both of Chandler, has been announced.

The bride elect is the daughter of David and Lisa Cox of Chandler. Her paternal grandparents are L.D. Cox of Memphis and the late Frances McCachren Ruffin of Pope, Miss. Maternal grandparents are the late Joe and Roma Jean Sutton of Pope.

She is a 2008 graduate of Brownsboro High School, and will graduate from Tyler Junior College in May with an associate of arts degree in early childhood education. She will attending The University of Texas at Tyler in Fall 2010.

The prospective groom is the son of Ronald and Linda Padgett of Chandler. His paternal grandparents are Cecil Padgett of Chandler and Shirley Padgett of Euless. Maternal grandparents are Troy Taylor of Terrell, the late Jeanette Taylor of Garland, and the late Barbara Taylor of Terrell.

He is a 2006 graduate of Brownsboro High School, and is employed with Brookshire’s Grocery Company.

The wedding is planned for July 17, 2010, at Stone Oak Ranch in Murchison, with a reception to follow. All friends and family are invited.
