Keep Brownsboro Beautiful has ordered playground equipment for City Park after the Brownsboro Economic Development Corporation provided $12,000 for the project.
“It includes six bounce swings, two toddler swings, two spring riders, and a climber,” KBB Vice President Roxie Holley said. “The city is clearing out an area at the park for it and by the middle of June, we should have some new playground equipment.”
KBB is working with webuildfun, inc. on the purchase and installation. It still needs about $125,000 for the rest of the playground equipment.
“We got a nice donation from Brownsboro First State Bank, and that will cover our first grouping,” Holley said.
The other equipment will include a tower, slides, and rock climbers. Other plans for the park include a second softball field, walking trail, and kitchen equipment for the concession area of the pavilion.
In its second year, KBB has raised more than $1,000 from $1 optional donations on Brownsboro water bills since last December. The also organization depends on private and public donations for fundraising.
