Opposition group used ‘factual’ information

I wish to comment on your front-page article addressing the local-option liquor election that was defeated.

You quote Brownsboro City Council member Mr. Glen Vest as suggesting “the controversial election may have discouraged some from voting.”

On the contrary, it only inflamed the hearts of those who are concerned for the well being of our community — more so the safety of our children.

You state that the Citizens Against The Local Sale of Alcohol, for which I am a member, “distributed propaganda materials.” Again on the contrary.

I personally presented factual information that is easily accessible from sources such as the National Institute of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse (NIAA), Partners For a Drug Free America, and Texas Department of Transportation (DOT).

The facts are clear. The detrimental effects of alcohol outweigh any potential benefit. Any one who ignores these statistical facts are irresponsible and pursuant of personal gain — perhaps even personal indulgence.
