More than 175 to graduate from BHS
Payne
More than 175 students will graduate from Brownsboro High School on June 4, with dozens earning honors nods.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at Bear Stadium. It was moved from Tyler Junior College because of renovations to Wagstaff Gym.
Graduation night is expected to be the first event on the stadium’s new field — artificial turf installed as part of a $1.5 million renovation project in and around the facility. More than 1,300 additional stadium seats on the home side were initially expected to be installed by graduation, but that work and much of the rest of the improvements haven’t begun.
They are expected, however, to be complete by the start of the 2010-2011 school year.
Justin Paul Payne is this year’s valedictorian. The son of Paul and Lori Payne and the grandson of Rick and Rosie Wright, Horace Payne, and William and Vivian Barnett will pursue pre-med biology at Texas A&M University in College Station.
