Know your candidates before electing them

I read a syndicated story on the Internet that incensed me.

The president of Malawi pardoned two men convicted and imprisoned for homosexuality. He did so only after “receiving international condemnation” for the conviction.

Our White House applauded the pardon and said it was time to end persecution based on a person’s orientation.

Now, we tend to think of Africa as uncivilized because it lacks our plumbing, education system, and medical availability. All families do not have strong, attractive housing.

But, this same article says that 37 African nations have laws against gay activity. So, who’s uncivilized?

God has blessed America immensely, but God expects us to reverence him and live by His standards.

If we don’t, he won’t continue to bless us. And He does have absolutes — things that are right or wrong.

I don’t remember previous administrations saying their most important decisions were made after much prayer and Bible study.

But I did feel that most of our leaders had an ingrained understanding of God and His moral parameters.

It seems to me this administration has an agenda of changing all that we have held to be true. I understand separation of church and state, but the president puts people in position of influence and decision-making that affect our society 100 percent.

His values can become policy.

Be vigilant in your study of the candidates and see what they believe. Write your congressmen when you see your nation taking the wrong road.
