TYLER — The Quilters Guild of East Texas is scheduled to host a meeting on July 8 during which checks will be presented to three organizations.

Executive Director Saleen Hearon will speak for St. Paul’s Children’s Foundation. Linda Junze, education director for Caldwell Zoo, has plans for new science educational equipment; and the Rev. Jerome Milton’s topic of discussion will be the the Datie Florence Brown Children’s Home.

The meeting is set for 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Tyler — South Campus.

Regular meetings involve quilt teachers from across the country giving talks about how to improve quilting expertise. This month, non-quilters will talk about how our quilting improves the lives of women and children in East Texas.
