WRITER’S CORNER
Remembering Pa
She found a folded, faded photograph
In the back of a dusty drawer
Out in the barn
As she was busy sorting through
Things for ‘the auction’ To settle the estate.
A weathered, red face
On an angular man still tall,
Dressed in clean but faded bib overalls
And his ever-present sweat stained
John Deere bent-bill cap,
Evoked memories of her past
And her father’s image When he was a force be reckoned with
Now almost forgotten – Frozen in time.
