In its second year, Rock Hill Baptist Church collected various supplies in a two-month period. Even the children had a hand in the effort, with a special monetary collection during Vacation Bible School.

So far, over $650 has been raised toward buying needed school items and gift cards for campuses in Brownsboro and Chandler.

Rock Hill member Lindsey Nations started the project last year.

“I really wanted to get our church involved with the schools,” she said. “Many kids start school without the things they need to enhance their learning. By everyone pitching in and helping, we are able to help children and parents with the stress of beginning a new school year. If only one child is helped by ‘back-pack blessing,” then our work is done.”

“Brownsboro Elementary would like to thank Bro. Robert Welch, members of Rock Hill Baptist Church, and the Brownsboro-Chandler community for the school-supply donation and the ‘back-pack blessings,” Principal Brian Ralson said. “Lindsey Nation has done a great job of helping to collect and organize the ‘backpack blessing.’”

A ‘back-pack blessing’ is set for Sunday at the church, at 11 a.m.
