CHANDLER BRIEFS
The second-annual meeting of the Chandler High School Ex-Student Association is set for Oct. 9, at the Chandler Pow-Wow.
A tent will be provided on the southeast corner of Winchester Park.
Former students are invited to enjoy the festivities and visit “old” school chums.
Alumnae are encouraged to contact those living outside the area so everyone will have an opportunity to make this year’s reunion successful.
The group will host the Chandler Heritage Museum’s display and sell “Recipes and Recollections.”
The recently published booklet includes stories recorded at Ex-Student Association meetings as well as those gathered by the Friends of the Chandler Public Library. Proceeds will benefit the Chandler Public Library and proposed Chandler Heritage Museum.
Contact Martha Copeland or Jim Powell for more information.

‘Recipes
and Recollections’
Friends of the Chandler Public Library have published “Recipes and Recollections: Taste and Tales of Chandler.”
The spiral-bound booklet includes stories about life in Chandler during the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
Many of these were gathered by Powell during the Chandler High School Ex- Student Association meetings.
Recipes and anecdotes about the cooks were submitted by area residents as a tribute to the many people who have made Chandler an outstanding community.
The stories take the reader back to a time when people sat on porches, shelled peas and entertaining the youth meant sliding down Morse Hill on the salvaged hood of a wrecked car or swimming at Green’s Pond.
Limited quantities are on sale at the library.
