Christian musicians to attend girls’ event at Rock Hill
Christian musicians Shelly Wilson and Kerri Crocker are the scheduled guest speakers for a girls’ conference in November at Rock Hill Baptist Church.
The event, called “Drama Queens for the King,” will encourage girls ages 10 to 15 “to take their place in God’s Kingdom,” conference coordinator Sherry Parker said.
“We’ve designed this slumber party to be fun, but in a dynamic, worshipful manner, where these young ladies will be asked to answer to a higher standard and seek God’s plan for their lives,” she said.
“This will be a great venue to deal with some ‘woman to-woman’ topics, such as teen pregnancy, appropriate dress and behavior for a young lady, and how they should expect a young man to treat her. We can’t keep burying our heads in the sand. It’s time the community takes action.”

Wilson founded the Drama Queens for the King ministries.
“Jesus is real — not fantasy, not theory,” she said. “His grace abounds no matter what your past holds. No one is too late to have a personal relationship with the creator of the universe.”
The conference is scheduled for Nov. 19- 20. Churches interested in sponsorships will be listed in Rock Hill’s advertisments and press releases, Parker said.
“The community should know we’re united. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with several church ministers, and they are excited, expressing a desire to participate.”
