Crisp joins Statesman as sports, news reporter
Andrew Jedidiah Crisp of Denton has joined The Chandler & Brownsboro Statesman as a news and sports reporter, Editor Paul Bryant announced.
“Bluebonnet Publishing is thrilled to welcome A.J. to this community,” Bryant said. “He brings solid news judgement and experience to The Statesman and to our monthly publication, The Lake View News.
“We feel he makes us better across several forums, and the staff of this newspaper looks forward to working with him.”
Crisp graduated from the University of North Texas in December 2009 with a major in journalism and minor in history.
He also attended Kilgore College, where he wrote for the student newspaper, The Flare. At North Texas, Crisp wrote for The UNT Daily.
Crisp worked for the Longview News- Journal, as well, as a sports writer.
“Working at the News-Journal was a great experience and a good way to help get my career off to a good start,” he said.
“I worked there for four years until I moved to Denton to finish my education. I am a huge sports fan, and I look forward to serving the Chandler and Brownsboro areas to the best of my abilities. I have heard great things about this area and look forward to calling it home.”
Crisp’s father, Perry, is pastor of Lake Fork Baptist Church in Alba.
