This week: First United Methodist Church

When the new year rolled around many folks made resolutions to change their lives in one way or the other. A year ago, my goal was to have a clean office, but that goal has yet to be achieved; however, I’m close. How about your resolutions and goals? Let me see if I can help you along.

• If your goal had to do with exercise and diet, I can tell you that deals can be found at our local exercise locations or you can walk/bike in your neighborhood.

• If your goal had to do with addictions, I can tell you that Celebrate Recovery (Chandler Faith Baptist), Call to Recovery (Rock Hill Baptist) and AA & NA (Lake Palestine UMC) are some successful programs in our immediate area.

• If your goal has to do with financial debt recovery, First United Methodist, Chandler is beginning the Dave Ramsey, FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY. An information meeting is this Sunday, Jan. 29 at 4:30 p.m. and will be held Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. beginning Feb. 12. You are welcome to come see what it is all about Sunday, with no strings attached.

• If your goal is to read the Bible from cover to cover, you are invited to join with us in reading the Bible in Ninety Days with one discussion group on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. We just began this Wednesday, Jan.y 25, so you are not too late.

• If your goal is to get back to church or find a worship for the first time, First United Methodist offers two styles of worship, Contemporary at 8:30 a.m. and Traditional at 11 a.m. Guests are always welcome to either service.

Did you know the City of Chandler compiled a list of resources available to your family for whatever needs you may have?

The resources include health, welfare, financial, and more services that are here for you around our area.

I’ve listed a few from that list, but you can see the list yourself at City Hall or one of the churches in Chandler.
