Brownsboro ISD Superintendent Chris Moran will be the keynote speaker at the event while several interesting items will be included in the silent auction.
One of the main items featured in the silent auction will be the storage building that is being constructed by sixth-grade students at Chandler Intermediate School.
The construction of the building is part of a handson teaching initiative Moran and the district is spreading to help engage students in learning.
While hearing from the school district’s new superintendent will be a reason many attend the banquet, another will be the announcing of the annual awards.
Balloting has been extended for the awards to ensure the community’s voice is heard as to who should be the Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year,

To be nominated for the Citizen of the Year honor the person must be a citizen of Chandler, Brownsboro, Edom, Moore Station, LaRue or Murchison but must not be nominated for acts performed in the course of business, rather for acts done as community service. Nomination forms are available at several local businesses and online at CBACC.net. The nomination deadline was Jan. 13 but has been extended to Jan. 30. Forms can be returned to the CBACC office or the business in which the form was originally picked up.

The new chamber president will be announced during the event as the term served by Milton Wallace has expired.
Wallace encouraged those who plan on attending the banquet to get tickets in advance. He said last year organizers planned for 130 people but 180 showed up causing a concern for food shortage.
