Brooking, Barnes exchange vows Oct. 1

Avery Lynn Brooking of Chandler and Stephen Andrew Barnes of Longview were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at the Villa di Felicita` in Tyler. Britt Davis of Kilgore officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Millard and Sherry Brooking of Chandler. She is a graduate of Brownsboro High School and Stephen F. Austin State University with a Master of Professional Accountancy. She is employed with BKD in Dallas, Texas.

She is the granddaughter of Gladys Brooking and the late Garland M. Brooking of Georgetown and Margie Cobb of Tyler and the late Jimmie L. Cobb of Carthage, Mississippi.

The groom is the son of Stephen Barnes and the late Rhonda Barnes of Longview. He is a graduate of Pine Tree High School and Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Hospitality Administration. He is employed with the Marriott Quorum in Dallas.

He is the grandson of the late Bob and Erleta Bobo of Douglass and the late Buford and Beverly Barnes of Chandler.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory silk shantung strapless gown. The gown featured a soft sweetheart neckline with ruching on the bodice highlighted with Swarovski crystals, crystal sequins and silver beaded embroidery on the waist. The full A-line gown flowed into a chapel length train. A single veil edged with Swarovski rhinestones complemented the bride’s gown. She held a bouquet of ivory roses and blue hydrangeas.

Serving as matron of honor was her mother, Sherry Brooking. Bridesmaids were her sisters, Elise Brooking of Houston and Kayla Smiley of Flint, and her close friend Lindsay Christensen of Lufkin.

Serving as the groom’s best man was Jason Gaines of San Antonio. Groomsmen were close friends, Jake Moore of Dallas and Kyle Neukom of Charleston, South Carolina.

Serving as ushers were Chad Humphries of Lufkin and Patrick Swindle of Tyler.

Following a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Carrollton, Texas.
