E.C. LEWIS
Funeral services for E.C. Lewis, 89, Brownsboro, were held 10:00 A.M. Monday January 16, 2012 at New Hope Methodist Church with Rev. Brooks Taylor officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.
Mr. Lewis died Friday, January 13, 2012 in Tyler.
He was born July 28, 1922 in Henderson County to the late Oscar and Georgia Speers Lewis. He married Marvene Hopson August 22, 1946. Mr. Lewis was a resident of Henderson County all his life. He was a WWII Veteran of the Army. He retired from Carrier Air Conditioning after a 25 year tenure and was a rancher, farmer and loved to hunt and fish.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by sons, James G. Lewis and Richard Carl Lewis.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Marvene Lewis, Brownsboro, sons, Glynn Lewis, Marcus and Gail Lewis, E.C. Lewis, Jr., all of Brownsboro, daughter, Kay and Don Forester, LaRue, daughter in law, Patricia Lewis, Brownsboro, five grandchildren, Adam Lewis, Amanda Lewis Bethea, Daniel Reeves, Amy Daily, Katherine Kugle, five great grandchildren.
