Funeral services for John Beall, 87, Ben Wheeler, were held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Hilliard Funeral Home, Van, with the Rev. Shelby Davidson officiating and James Golden assisting. Burial followed in Edom Cemetery.

Beall passed away on Jan. 20, 2012, in Tyler.

John Bryant Beall was born April 25, 1924, in Edom to the late Sidney Coltharp and Rosa Belle Phillips Beall. He served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star. John worked in sales, was a member of the Edom Historical Society and served on the board of directors for the Edom Cemetery Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Beall, and seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Emmalene Beall, Ben Wheeler; children, Margaret Beall, Canton, Chris Beall, Austin, Debbie Perryman and husband James, Lindale, and John Beall, Van; one brother, Thomas Beall, Edom; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
