Services for Marvin Lindsey Montgomery, Chandler, were held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Peoples Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl George officiating. Arrangements were under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler. Montgomery died Jan. 14, 2012.

Marvin Lindsey Montgomery was born in Chandler on Sept. 1, 1955, to Spencer and K.C. Montgomery. He was one of seven children. He graduated from Brownsboro High School where he played varsity football. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1974, and served six years of active and reserve duty, receiving an honorable discharge.

He was preceded in death by his mother, K.C. Montgomery; sister, Barbara Montgomery Hendricks; brother, Arlander Joiner; and stepmother, Ora Lee Pierce Montgomery.

Survivors include four children, daughters, Tikki Montgomery, Wautuga, and LaTasha Montgomery, Texarkana, Texas; sons, Darrel (Gloria) Hendricks and Damian Hendricks, both of Tyler; stepson, Lee Timothy Williams, Texarkana, Ark.; father, Spencer Montgomery, Chandler; sister, Patricia Montgomery, Chandler; brother, Spencer (Nadia) Montgomery Jr., Chandler; brother, Charlie (Patricia) Montgomery, Brownsboro; brother, Paul (Casey) Montgomery, Garland; five grandchildren, Qua'Shunn, Tytiaunna, DaqQuawn, Dellissia and Keynon; and a host of other relatives and friends.
