Services for William Wallace “Bill” Golden, 88, Chandler, were held April 7 at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Cawood officiating. Entombment followed in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Golden was born February 18, 1927 in Mount Hope, Alabama and died April 5, 2015 in Chandler. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, and was instrumental in erecting the Sixth Marine Division Cemetery in Okinawa with fellow Seabees.

He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Ada Golden; wife, Augusta Golden; daughter, Joyce Ricketts; and numerous brothers, sisters and other relatives.

Survivors include daughter, Linda Golden; son, William Farrell Golden; grandchildren, Vicki Moore, William Morris Ricketts, Melinda Ricketts, Wendy Fugate, Dawn Gentry, and Kim Reeves; six greatgrandchildren with two on the way; and one greatgreat grandchild on the way. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
