Special to the Statesman

As hundreds of basketball fans from Brownsboro and Rains cheered their teams during the Feb. 14 district play-offs in the gymnasium at Brownsboro High School, seven vehicles were reported as being burglarized in the parking lot.

Two suspects, Bobby Ray Dunn, 24 and Benjamin Issac Hale, 22, were charged in connection with the burglaries.

Chief Thomas W. Robertson of the Brownsboro Police Department released a statement on Monday. “On Feb. 14, 2017, seven vehicles were burglarized while in the parking lot of the Brownsboro High School at the last home basketball game. Thanks to the diligent work of Van Zandt County Constable Pat Jordan and Deputy Bob Keltner, and Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Ricky Willis, the two suspects are behind bars,” Robertson said.

“With the teamwork of the afore mentioned officers, and the information provided by my officer, Kevin Adair, we were able to piece together a solid case,” Robertson said. “Constable Jordan and Deputy Keltner interviewed both suspects, Bobby Ray Dunn and Benjamin Isaac Hale, who were both apprehended on warrants.”

More details about the case will be released when the information is available.
