According to Kathi White, of Texas Department of Transportation, there will be a “maintenance mill and inlay project where workers will mill away two inches of the existing surface and replace with two inches of new material.”

White told the Statesman in an email interview that, “This work will be conduct- ed at three locations – Frankston, Chandler and Mineola.”

As of right now, White stated, unless weather or other conditions prevail, work is set to be conducted in that order with work in Chandler to be planned for March 20-24 – though it is possible for later on in the month.

“Work will be in both travel lanes, in each direction, and will not include the turn lanes,” White said, adding, “the limits of the work will be from just east of the railroad bridge on the west side of town to the end of the curb and gutter on the east side of town by the red storage buildings.”

She added, “The public should expect delays, and seek alternate routes if at all possible.”
