Bears win home opener

(Haley Turner/BISD Photo) Baseball came to Brownsboro on March 7 with the Bears facing the Gilmer Buckeyes in the Bears’ home opener. It was a victory for the Brownsboro team – 6 to 1 over the Buckeyes.

Winning pitcher for the Bears was Jake Connor, and catcher was Austin Fout. Conner had 13 strikeouts in six innings for the Bears.

Christian Reeves had two hits – a double and a single – for the Bears, while Wyatt Rinehart had two singles.
