Letter to the Editor
Our family has been blessed receiving many kind condolences from our Chandler/ Brownsboro communities since our father went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 28. One word we keep hearing is he was a friend. When we moved to Brownsboro in 1968, Dad became friends with Arland Boles. In 1999, Mr. Boles wrote these words to him that expresses the Bible scripture from Proverbs 18:24. It states, ‘A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly.’
‘Dear Dick, Happy 79th Birthday! Of all the people I know who deserves to be congratulated on their 79th birthday, you would top the list. In the 35 years that you have lived among us here in Brownsboro, you have been a blessing to the community, but I especially have been blessed with my association with you. The only person I know who shows the love and compassion towards his fellow man as you demonstrate was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I pray that the grace of our Lord grant you many more years in His service so that we all may be blessed with the love and affection you show towards your fellow man. May God richly bless you and yours, Arland Boles.’
The Lord gave him 17 more years of life. Arland’s prayer was answered. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much.
