Free movie night in the park will be at the Grand Pavilion in Winchester Park at 8:30pm. Concessions open at 8pm. Sponsors are Nolan Insurance, Ace Hardware, Celebrations’ Flowers and Gifts, Women’s Unity Fellowship, Air Chandler and Dreams Come True Travel. SING will be the movie on May 20.

The Brownsboro High School Theater Department and the Brownsboro High School Golden Girls are teaming up in a fundraising event with a pancake breakfast and the Golden Girls’ Spring Show. The event will be at 9, 9:45 and 10:15 am with only 25 per time slot. Pancakes are $10. Come enjoy the pancake breakfast with your favorite Disney princesses and superheroes. Hannah Dot Cook, of Chandler, will be singing in a benefit concert on the Square in Downtown Tyler along with other artists. The event is $10. Local food vendors will be on hand. The event will take place from 2-10pm. There will be a silent auction, t-shirts for sale and live music. The benefit is to support relieve efforts for town in Van Zandt County affected by the tornadoes that hit April 29.

May 21

The Annual Memorial Service at Echols Cemetery on Jennings Mountain will be held on Sunday May 21, 2017 at 2pm. Please join us for fellowship and hear Brother Tom Bragdon deliver a touching memorial tribute to those who died while serving our country and we all turn our hearts to other loved ones we have lost.

May 23

CPR Training Classes will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 9:30-11:30am or Wednesday, May 24 at 6-8pm at the Chandler Community Center. Cost for the training is $25 per person, and registration forms are available at the Chandler Library, City Hall, Anytime Fitness, ETMC Chandler, and Christus Clinic, Chandler.

Project Graduation at the high school will be from 10am - 5am, graduating seniors will have the opportunity to participate. Businesses and groups can donate to the event for door prizes and monetary donations for snacks, drinks and large prizes. For more information, call 903-852-3701.

The East Texas Crisis Center will host its fifth annual ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ event Saturday, May 27, 2017 during Fiddlers Festival. Deadline to register is May 10. Special shoes designed for men will be provided. You can walk as an individual ($200) or have a team (teams limited to 4 to 6 men $500 per team). Come by the East Texas Crisis Center and register. Vintage Edom will host ‘Mardi Gras in May’ from noon - 5pm, May 27. Chef Jackson will prepare shrimp etoufee, red beans and rice. Kerian Massey, artist, will be on hand creating on the front porch. Cost is $25 for all you can eat.

June 10

The 2017 Tindel Reunion will be at the home of Rex Brown located at 16506 FM 279. All friends of the Tindel Family are invited. Visitation is 9am- 6:30pm. Supper is at Los Dos Potrillos at 6:30pm. Call Nancy 713-410-6815 for information.
