Margie Loraine Epperson

Margie Loraine Epperson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 5, 2017. She was born April 23, 1923 in Irving, Texas, the daughter of Dewey and Lucy (Roseberry) Jernigan.

Margie was a member of Leagueville Baptist Church for 52 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister to her family. She was an industrious person whose hands were always busy. During World War II, she was a Rosie Riveter. As a mother and grandmother, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting for her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her delicious chicken and dressing that she would bring to family occasions, and her quick wit and sense of humor. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Nolan Dement, Phil Conner and Clark Epperson; brother, Charles Jernigan; sister, Dorothy Edwards; sons, Lew and Nolan Dement; and great grandson, Nathan Conner.

Survivors are her sons, Steve Conner and wife Karen of Brownsboro, Pat Conner and wife Pris of Longview; daughter, Vicki Taylor and husband Bill of Larue; daughter-in-law, Barbara Dement of San Antonio; brother, Bud Jernigan of Irving; grandchildren, Stacy, Dan, Jennifer and Katy Dement, Chris and Todd Dement, Becky LaSalles, James, Phillip and Randall Conner, Mike, Perry and Josie Conner, Jaalla Weir and Josh Rollins, Cassie Kirkley, 27 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.

The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of East Texas Foundation at 4111 Spur 248, Tyler, Texas 75701 or by phone, 903-266-3400.

Services were held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11am at Leagueville Baptist Church with Bro. James Conner and Bro. Phillip Conner officiating, and Randall Conner providing special music. Burial was at Leagueville Cemetery under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
