Saturdays, Rock Hill Baptist Church offers a contemporary worship service at 5pm, Saturdays at the main campus at 20022 SH 31 East in Brownsboro. Call 903-852-6711 for more information.

St. Boniface Catholic Church

St. Boniface Catholic Church of Chandler will hold Faith Formation Classes (CCD) for adults Tuesday nights. Mass is at 6pm, dinner/snack at 6:30, class from 7-8:20.

Confessions are held: Friday (Spanish) 6-7pm and after Mass. Saturday (English) 4-5pm and after Mass; or call the church office for an appointment.

St. Boniface has obtained the Catholic education on-line resources from “FORMED,” from the Augustine Institute. “FORMED” is a wonderful tool for individuals, children, teens, and families. You can go to www.stbonifacechandler.formed.org, click “register.” There is a link on the website under the faith formation tab, there is also a flyer available in the community room.

Saturdays, St. Boniface Catholic Church offers a Vigil Mass at 5pm Saturday.

Sunday, St. Boniface Catholic Church offers an English Mass at 9:30am / Spanish Mass at 12:00.

The Great Adventure Class, a comprehensive study of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, showing the relationship of the Old Testament to the New. 6:30pm Tuesdays. Classes are for children and adults.

Log-on to www.stbonifacechandler.org. On the “Contact Us” page, you will see a form for New Parishioner registration. The “Giving Opportunities” page has several options. You now can make on-line donations to St. Boniface.

The FUMC at Murchison will be hosting a Community Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 11, from 5-7:30pm at the church. All area students K-8 are invited to participate in water slides, games and refreshments. For further information, contact Holley Collier at 903-804-5148.

A 90th Birthday Celebration will be held for Betty McKay on Saturday, August 11, 1-3pm at First United Methodist Church in Chandler. Party will be held in Heritage Hall. Cards are requested, but please, no gifts. Friends invited.

The Brownsboro High School Class of 1968 has begun planning their 50th Class Reunion. Please SAVE THIS DATE if

you are a member of this class. The Reunion is set for Saturday, August 11, 2018; 2pm- 6pm; Brownsboro Junior High Cafeteria. Although the main focus of the reunion will be on the Class of 1968, anyone who attended Brownsboro schools will be welcome to attend. All invitations have been sent out for the reunion. If you did not receive one and you are part of the Class of 1968, please contact Brenda Robertson. Although the deadline to RSVP has passed, you can attend the reunion and/or reserve a DVD by calling Brenda at 903-852-6136.

Day of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin at St. Boniface Catholic Church. There will be a bilingual mass at 6:30pm. There will be a procession with Our Lady & Rosary after the Mass. Dinner will follow; bring your favorite dish to share.

August 18

Athens Masonic Lodge #165 is hosting Carter BloodCare for a blood drive at Brookshire’s on Saturday, August 18, 2018. The blood collected will go to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. The blood drive will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Brookshire’s parking lot at 807 East Tyler Street. The Masons will be cooking hot dogs and fixins for all who come and try to give blood. Mooyah has donated 20 free small hamburgers, Schlotzski’s has donated 20 free small sandwiches, El Presidente Restaurant in Brownsboro has donated two $25 gift certificates, and the Texas Rangers Baseball Club has donated a Rangers baseball cap signed by a player. Everyone who donates or attempts to donate will have their name placed in a drawing for one of these items. Carter BloodCare will be giving free T-shirts to those who donate, as long as supplies last.

STEP-UP TO SUCCESS at ST. BONIFACE was a wonderful success, with 40 participates, students and parents. A second motivational movie “Stand and Deliver,” a speaker and refreshments will be on August 19. Lets help support our students for Blessing of good education.
