Saturdays, Rock Hill Baptist Church offers a contemporary worship service at 5pm, Saturdays at the main campus at 20022 SH 31 East in Brownsboro. Call 903-852-6711 for more information.

Sundays, Rock Hill Baptist Church offers a traditional worship service at 8:30am and a contemporary worship at 10am on the main campus at 20022 SH 31 East. Children’s Church is offered during the 10am service. Call 903-852-6711.

Chandler Library

New Classes Starting at the Library — The library will sponsor basic computer skills classes and GED preparation at the Chandler Community Center beginning in September. The first meeting, Monday, September 10, 6pm, will be an orientation and needs assessment. Persons unable to attend can contact the library at 903-849-4122 and a make-up session will be scheduled.

St. Boniface Catholic Church

The Adult Faith Formation Class will meet every Tuesday after the 6pm Mass in the Community room. As part of our “Step up to Success” in Education program, volunteers are needed in English, Math, and Science for the students at St. Boniface and our community. If you can tutor our students at least once a week in one of these areas, please sign the volunteer sheet in the community hall. Anna Hodges will contact you and set up an organization meeting with all the tutors. Confessions are held: Friday (Spanish) 6-7pm and after Mass. Saturday (English) 4-5pm and after Mass; or call the church office for an appointment.

St. Boniface has obtained the Catholic education on-line resources from “FORMED,” from the Augustine Institute. “FORMED” is a wonderful tool for individuals, children, teens, and families. You can go to www.stbonifacechandler. formed.org, click “register.” There is a link on the website under the faith formation tab, there is also a flyer available in the community room.

Saturdays, St. Boniface Catholic Church offers a Vigil Mass at 5pm Saturday.

Sunday, St. Boniface Catholic Church offers a English Mass at 9:30am / Spanish Mass at 12:00. Log-on to www.stbonifacechandler.org. On the “Contact Us” page, you will see a form for New Parishioner registration. The “Giving Opportunities” page has several options. You now can make on-line donations to St. Boniface.

The Lone Star Republican Women’s club will be having their monthly meeting on September 13th 2018, at 11:30 am. The meeting will be held at Republican Headquarters, 207 E. Tyler St, Athens, TX 75751. The speaker will be Dr. Michael Vickers, born and raised in Sinton, Texas. Dr. Vickers graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine Texas A&M, and has a mixed practice in Falfurrias, Texas. He discovered the Ames strain of Anthrax that surfaced after 9/11. Dr. Vickers is the co-founder and chairman of the Texas Border Volunteers Inc, he will be talking about Homeland Security and investigation and management (a call to action)… Threat to the Southern US Border.

The third motivational movie with “Step up to Success” in Education will be Sunday, Sept. 16. Beginning at approx. 1:30-1:45pm in the fellowship hall of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Both parents and children are invited to attend. Please contact Anna Hodges at 903-852-6806 for more information.

September 29

The Chandler Historical Museum and the Chandler Chamber of Commerce will be presenting a Murder Mystery Dinner on Saturday, September 29 at 6pm. Proceeds will help the Museum to move the Train Depot to McCain Park. Seating is limited to 40 people, so get your tickets early. Tickets are $30 per person, catering by FD’s Grillhouse.
