St. Boniface Catholic Church

As part of our “Step up to Success” in Education program, volunteers are needed in English, Math, and Science for the students at St. Boniface and our community. If you can tutor our students at least once a week in one of these areas, please sign the volunteer sheet in the community hall. Anna Hodges will contact you and set up an organizational meeting with all the tutors. Confessions are held: Friday (Spanish) 6-7pm and after Mass. Saturday (English) 4-5pm and after Mass; or call the church office for an appointment.

St. Boniface has obtained the Catholic education on-line resources from “FORMED,” from the Augustine Institute. “FORMED” is a wonderful tool for individuals, children, teens, and families. You can go to www.stbonifacechandler.formed.org, click “register.” There is a link on the website under the faith formation tab, there is also a flyer available in the community room.

CASA of Trinity Valley announces November dates for new volunteer training: Sat., Nov. 10, 9-2:30 at 1000 N Church Street, Palestine; Sat, Nov. 17, 9-2:30 location TBA If you have not already submitted an application but are interested in becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate ( CASA) and attending training, you are encouraged to apply online at our website www.casaoftv.org . In order to become a volunteer advocate a person must be at least 21 years old, have access to transportation and be able to pass background checks.

EDOM CIVIC THEATRE PRESENTS “Double Wide, Texas Christmas” November 9-10, 2018 ­— Directed by Lee Shults. It’s Show Time at Edom Civic Theatre! Friday and Saturday performances are at 7pm. In this outrageously funny comedy, the newly formed town consisting of 4 trailers and a shed set their sights on the County-wide “Battle of the Mangers” competition. The speaker, Patti Todd Gillespie will present “Forgotten Treasures in the Texas Courthouse: Discovering the Miscellaneous Books.”
