East Texas Genealogical Society will meet on January 12, 2019, at 2p.m., at Tyler Public Library, 201 S. College, Tyler, Texas. The meeting is free and open to the public. Boo Maxwell Marshall, guest speaker, will talk about her 30-year journey to find her birth family. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, during the Depression to an unwed teenager and given up for adoption. Her adoption, facilitated by fanciful lies about her background, led to searching in the wrong places for her birth family. In 2015, Boo wrote and published a book titled A Different Bus: Journey of a Lonely Heart. She weaves together the journeys of both families and takes us full circle in her 30-year search. It is an inspiring story filled with life’s challenges, humor, even otherworldly help, and offers us beautiful lessons in forgiveness, healing and love. She will discuss the searches and sources she used in her quest to find the truth about her adoption. Boo Maxwell Marshall grew up in Texarkana, Arkansas, and Dallas, Texas. She was an art major who attended Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana, and North Texas University in Denton. She is a wife, homemaker,

mother of three, and grandmother of five. She lives in Tyler,, with her husband. She is a dealer in antiques and collectibles.
